Vivid Lacquer Polishes

Hi all!

Today is very very special, because I have some swatches of the Vivid Lacquer by the lovely Anni.  In addition to great polishes, Anni also makes these crazy cool stamping plates!  I have three polishes to show you guys and I did order a stamping plate, it just hasn't gotten here yet so expect to see that in the future!

Don't Forget the Rum, Fairy Bread, Sketchbook
This post is going to be pretty long and picture heavy so get to the goodies after the jump!

First up is Sketchbook.  When it arrived, the bottle wasn't all the way full, which is super sad because it is GORGEOUS!  Sketchbook is a clear base with holographic micro glitter and different sizes of matte black and white square, hex, and bar glitter.  This honestly might be my new favorite black and white glitter topper.  It's very pretty and delicate, and I love the subtle holo glitter.  For these photos I layered one coat of sketchbook over various colors and also in a Jelly Sandwich.  This polish did NOT require the dabbing method.  From index to pinky is China Glaze Papaya Punch, For Audrey, Gothic Lolita, and Gaga For Green.  The thumb is layers of OPI Do You Think I'm Tex-y? and Sketchbook in this order; Tex-y, Sketchbook, Tex-y, Sketchbook, Tex-y.  All fingers only have ONE coat of topcoat and they are perfectly smooth!  I really loved Sketchbook over all the colors (like orange for Halloween), but my favorite was the Jelly Sandwich.  I love how you can still see the holo through the Jelly Polish.

Next up is Fairy Bread, which was my surprise favorite.  Fairy Bread is a milky white base with all different sizes and colors of matte hex glitter and micro bar glitter.  I think it looks like Pop Tarts but my Boyfriend thinks it looks like Birthday Cake.  Either way it's fabulous.  The formula was very smooth for both the glitter and the base.  No dragging or pained glitter placement here!  This is three coats with, again, one coat of a topcoat for perfect smoothness.

Finally we have Don't Forget The Rum, which is a dark grey jelly base with (get ready) small black and white hex, medium light pink and matte fuschia hex and black and white square and bar glitter.  Phew.  Unfortunately, the formula was really thick, espcially with all the glitter in it.  BUT, I just added some polish thinner and that fixed everything.  I was able to apply three managable coats, but with all the glitter and it took three coats of topcoat to smooth it out.  The glitter required a little special placement, but nothing majorly inconvenient.  Initial problems aside, the end result is beautiful.

Overall I am very impressed with Anni's creations, and I can't wait for my stamping plate to arrive!  You can buy Vivid Lacquer on Etsy, and you can see swatches and updates on Facebook , Tumblr , and Pinterest.  Well, what are yo waiting for, go check it out!
